Title: Me Myself and I

Exhibition
While using multiple techniques, I created self-portraits using methods I had interest and passion in; Being from multi-media to pencil and paper, these self-portraits define the person I have become with the use of lines and shapes to structure the fundamentalist meaning and basic techniques that grandfather the generation of art.
Brainstorming
A line's definition is an element of art defined by a point moving in space. Line may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract.
Lines can be hard, sharp, straight, geometric; they can be organic, smooth, soft, flowing, loopy, wavy. Expressive, gestural lines shout the force, speed and emotion put into their making. They swoop, slash, scar, skip, skid, stutter, sing, whisper, drip, bleed, splash across the surface. Lines that are sketchy and unsure express uncertainty and weakness, and are generally less pleasing. |

Types of Art Media
All art around us art encompasses many different art forms, from traditional media such as paintings and drawings to more recently developed approaches that use digital and time-based media to create works that incorporate both sound and image. I wanted to explore this technique in my work to perform self-portraits that would describe my own interpretations.
Though both of these art forms were pleasing and I did include some into my final product, I wanted to focus more on a media-based form. Working in areas of mixed media afford a great deal of creative freedom.

Meaning
A self-portrait captures the image of myself, and focus on my own style of interpretation and execution/style of my art.
I choose these processes of art to show my skills and improvement while doing the project. I emphasize on the importance of lines in art. Line is one of the most important Elements of Art. The creation of a painting, sculpture or design uses lines to divide the paper or canvas into shapes and forms. They can appear static or active. Lines define objects. We will take a look at how artists use line expressively. |
